The bipartisan January 6th Select Committee has shown that Trump and his MAGA allies planned, promoted, and paid for a criminal conspiracy to overturn an election they knew they’d lost. Now, it's on us to hold them accountable - and protect our democracy.

But we can't do it alone. We'll need to find our people and build support for our resolution efforts and our broader work to protect democracy - and social media is a great way to do that!

Here's how you can get involved on social media:

• Share the sample posts below to tell your networks why it's important that we protect democracy and pass these local resolutions.

• Share your story about why you're working to pass a local resolution. Record short videos and write up posts about how it's going, why this matters to you, and what protecting democracy means for your community.

• Lift each other up! Follow the hashtag #democracyresolution and like, share, and repost your fellow democracy resolutioners! The bigger and stronger our community, the more we can learn from and lean on each other to get this work done.

Ready to tell your community about why you're working to pass a democracy resolution in your town? Recording a video for social media is a great way to share your passing with your community. Here's a sample structure to help you record your video!

• Introduce yourself. Give your name, and where you're from.

• Tell people what you're doing. Let them know you're working to pass a democracy resolution in your area.

• Why is this important? Tell your community why you're working to protect our democracy, what that means to you, and how this can help your community.

• How can people join you? We'll all need support to get this done. Do you need people to call their council members? Join a zoom call to learn more? Come to a council meeting? Tell them how they can join your effort!
